Which committees would you like to request?

The Downtown Attractions Committee feeds and entertains Calgarians and visitors at Fluor Rope Square (Olympic Plaza on the corner of 7th Avenue and Macleod Trail SE across from City Hall), and other locations in the downtown area during the 10 days of the Calgary Stampede! These volunteers are available to do Stampede barbecues, square dancing, bring characters to your event and other activities to make events throughout the year a hand clappin', toe tappin' good time! The Downtown Attractions committee also works with elementary schools in the city to provide Stampede style events.
The Promotion Committee promotes western spirit and values of the Calgary Stampede at events year 'round. This energized volunteer posse greets and "brands" guests, adding a distinct western flavour. Other activities include special appearances by Harry the Horse - the Stampede's official mascot, - providing Stampede mobile stages, western entertainment, cooking for smaller pancake breakfasts "western style", line dancing demonstrations and parade participation.
The Stampede Showband has a proud and rich heritage that spans over 35 years. As musical ambassadors for the Calgary Stampede, the Stampede Showband, and our smaller ensemble Band of Outriders, have spread western spirit across the world stage.
The Stampede Showriders are a dynamic group of young equestrians with a distinctive western flare. Today the equestrian team performs across Southern Alberta and has traveled to destinations in the United States and Europe. The Showriders perform musical rides several times a day and serve as a colour guard during the Calgary Stampede.
The Caravan Committee is the team that puts on Calgary's famous Stampede breakfasts. These energetic and fun volunteers will get out early in the morning, 'rain or shine', to provide a fabulous entertainment package for your event. Our committee focuses on events that have a minimum of 500 participants and a minimum charge applies per person based on your event. We'll bring the fun Stampede Caravan style to your event!
The Stampede Indian Princess is the Official Representative of the Indian Village and the Calgary Stampede. She is a positive youth role model who represents the Tribes of Treaty 7 (Tsuu T'ina, Piikani, Stoney, Kainai and Siksika Nations), and will make over 350 appearances throughout her reign in an effort to welcome visitors from around the world to the Indian Village, the Calgary Stampede and the City of Calgary. www.indianprincess.ca
